This is the second half of my Reasons to Love dA's Literature Community. If you have no idea what is going on this explains it a bit more. ♥

I love the literature community because it helps my writing and I also love to read what other people write and the ideas they come up with.

I love the literature community here on dA for various reasons, and one is that they are always supportive when you need some support or help. They always seem to be willing to give advice when it is asked for, or to just talk literature in often. Literature is one of the most powerful forms of art with the capability to shape the world and our cultures as we know it. Even though the dA writing community can be a little...well uninviting to some (that's what I have heard from others about us writers for some reason), but we try to be open to anyone and try to offer help to our fellow writers. Together, we can all become better writers and perhaps ultimately better people.

It also gives a much needed sense of community because lets face it, not everyone that we interact with on a day to day basis in real life may not be writers which is often the case and we just need to be with other writers who share the same passion for writing and reading.

I love DA lit community because no matter how many times I think writing's become boring or there can't possibly be something original, I always find a thousand somethings that change my mind and give me inspiration to start again and keep trying.

There are a lot of great things about DA's lit community. I've met some of the nicest people here. And I've met more truly talented writers here than anywhere else.

Constructive criticism is actually constructive. DA gives good feedback. The people here have really helped me look at my short stories in a different way and I think I'm a better writer because of it.

The fun events like Flash Fiction Month, the contests, and the writing prompts are an excellent motivator when you're not finding the motivation or the inspiration to write. Deviant Art's lit community has gotten me back to writing every time I've started to really give up.

As for me, my reason why I love the literature community here so much is the fact how fast I was included. I was almost new here and didn't have so many friends on dA yet and when I tried to get into the community, I was pretty accepted, never felt intimidated and found quite a few friends which were my first reasons to stay on dA!
Even though I mostly only lurk around and only participate in very big events, I still love the community so very much!

I love the DA Literature community because those amazing people are what made me realize I wanted to be a poet. I always knew literature mattered, but when I first started reading popular poems by talented DA writers, and I saw some comments saying “This is exactly how I feel”, I thought “I want to be able to make people relate to my words like that. I, too, want to make people feel less alone”, and I knew right then what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

:shamrock: "Words are a beautiful imagination." :shamrock: :)

The reason I enjoy/love the Literature community is because there are people actually enjoying what they write/do, regardless of people reading it. That's inspiring, that it is something they can enjoy through and through and not have it influenced by others.

I have 2 reasons why I love dA's Lit Community:

1.) It's the reason why I love dA in general: so many creative minds working in one place. These aren't just friends and family saying, "Oh your stuff is great," even if they are on dA with you. You have complete strangers offering unbiased feedback and you have all levels of experience working in a learning community.

2.) It gives me a reason to keep writing. Knowing that at any given time of day. there is someone who might be reading my words gives me such motivation to keep going and keep improving.

I'm really thankful to the whole of DeviantArt's Literature community. There's so many wonderful pieces and writers that give me inspiration and help me to improve. Plus, I love reading all of the amazing poems, stories, and others. I love it when I feel a smile on my face or a tear falling after reading a particularly awesome piece~ Thank you all!

Even though I'm a literature writer, I don't consider myself actually part of the literature community. I like to just think of myself as being part of the bigger picture, the dA community as a whole.

That said, I am normally a lurker. I love learning about new and exciting things that the Lit community is doing, even if I may not participate in them myself. It's just so active and energetic. Sure, it may have its flaws from time to time, but what community doesn't? I really think that this community is starting to shine brighter these days, and it's really nice to see that. There's just so many things you can get involved in ( in which I normally don't have the time to do so) that it's practically overwhelming (but in a good way!).

Keep going, dA Lit!

I've had to learn a lot while I was here... Like how to not deal with what people think and not to quit so easily.

There are so many reasons to love the dA Lit community, from specific individuals, to groups as a whole. For me, there are 4 main reasons to love the Lit community here on dA.
The help and encouragement I've received from individuals and groups, that has helped me improve as a writer.
The chances I've had, both as an individual and as a group admin, to pass on that help and encouragement. The chance to see other writers grow and improve.
The sheer amount of fantastic work that I get to read on a daily basis.
And finally, the dA Lit community helped me to get published for the first time. If that isn't reason to love em, then what is? :D

People are always so supportive and helpful. I feel like I can really grow my craft here, and do so in a way that's both supportive and constructively critical. Plus, there's some amazing people and I really value the friendships I've made, even if they don't stray beyond our own little lit bubble. It's nice.

I love dA's literature community because, whatever you like to write, somebody out there will like to read it. Similarly, whatever you like to read, somebody else writes. The range of genres people work with here is simply astonishing.

My first reason:
I recently joined dA.  Being a hobbyist writer, I thought to myself "Everyone does visual art here, so I won't expect much in the way of views."  Lo an behold, I got views.  Granted, not a lot of them, but that's because I'm new here.  Even the visual artists need time to build up their reputation.
In the month I've been here, I've discovered how extensive the dA literature community really is.  I've realized there's more to it than meets the eye.  I've come to the realization that, while I'm just a small fish in a big pond, so is everyone else.  There's a nice sense of belonging for me that wasn't there before.  The dA literature community is made up of "my peeps", as it were, and it's really quite cool.

My other reason is that there's always someone better than me to offer a helpful critique on my writing, and always someone who I can help.  It really is a community working to help others and to improve, and not just a bunch of narcissists posting their stories for praise and pageviews.  And even those uninterested in critiques, they seem to be in it for the art rather than money or popularity.  I'm sure there are some out there, but I personally have not come across one mean-spirited writer here.

I love the dA lit community because without it, I'd never have met some of the best people I am blessed to know.

There's always going to be someone here who's going to be able to tell me what I need to hear, whether it's a blunt critique or an encouraging note. It's been really great getting to know everybody; some people I've become fairly close friends with, while other writers I tend to admire from afar. Either way, the thing that makes dA's lit community isn't just all the fun contests and workshops, it's the people.

Finding DA opened a whole new world for me.  I now spend nearly all my waking hours here.  As for reasons, well I could list a lot for just being a part of the DA community as a whole but this is only on Lit so....

1.  Mainly, I get a great deal of help from the many wonderful tutorials, critiques from expert authors, and advice on how to publish a story.

2.  Lots of lit groups to join that spread my work around and increases my contacts for when and if I publish.

3.  Making new friends and contacts that give my muse a boast when I'm feeling blocked..

4.  Above all, it helps me improve as a writer better than any other site as ever done.  Which is the greatest testimony I can give for a community that's dedicated itself to making the writing experience a journey of wonder and discovery.

5.  And lots of challenges, contests, and just plain fun!

My reason for loving deviantArt in general is how unpredictable and inspiring this place is - you never know whose work you might stumble across when you log in
I like various media but I mainly focus on literature. My friends from the literature community on dA help me develop my writer's qualities and discover different outlooks on life and art. Not only I get to reading work of good quality but I'm able to directly interact with the author which makes the reader's experience a lot more fun. And on the other hand on my own pieces I get feedback that helps me understand the impact of my words on the readers.
Fortunately I must say most of the feedback I've been getting is positive, in fact the most talented writers I've met here are nice and helpful people. They motivate me.

the reason i love DA's literature community is the critiques and pointers that i have received from fellow authors, professional or otherwise. Its this feedback that i have used in order to improve my writing to appeal to my readers and without it my work wouldn't be as good as it is today nor would it continue to improve. Thats my main reason for how the DA lit community is amazing.

Because of my fellow deviants.

Deviants like HugQueen, pixiepot, BeccaJS, thorns, LadyLincoln, LadyofGaerdon, & ATrue to name a few.

These deviants act within the literature community selflessly and generously. They are the people who first drew me to literature & inspired me to be like them; just as supportive and kind.

Not to bash other galleries... :giggle:

... but the lit. community is one of the most involved and supportive groups I have been a part of since I first ventured on to DA. I began as a traditional artist, and have now migrated to this wonderful place because of one thing:

YOUR generous & unending support.

A Reason to love the dA Lit Community...because we're a huge family of writers that came together without any reason but sharing Art for the soul, for anyone, for everyone.
:)

I LOVE the lit community here on DA.  First of all, it's great to be in a place where the people aren't pompous assh*les.  I've been to some writing workshops and writing circles where people have inflated egos and a high opinion of themselves and that's an instant turn off.  Here, on DA, people are more down to earth, which probably has something to do with being an online community- not a face to face community.  People are more honest online, I think, which creates a nice, healthy community.  And the feedback!  Let's talk about that!  The feedback is great.  The lit community is great at giving feedback (hello, because we're writers we give awesome critiques).

I also like how easy it is to get in touch with people here.  Everyone is friendly and eager to make connections.  I like walking around DA's lit groups because it's so simple to discover new, great, writers.  The size of the lit community is just perfect.  I know some people complain that it's too small, but I don't think so.  It's intimate, which is much better in my opinion.

I love the DA lit community.  :D

1.
2.unlike the art community here, the lit community is approachable and open. it is not political (as far as I can tell). I know several really good artists (professional results, but consider themselves amateurs) who get no official recognition because they are not part of the "in" crowd. in lit, if someone wants to let everyone else know "hey I wrote this and I think its good", most will look, many will comment positively,  none will criticize just to cause pain.
3.

Why do I love dA's lit community?

Easy- it's such a wild ride! With so many different perspectives, ideas, and people, it's like a constant Big Bang of creativity- there are whole new universes being formed every second. And the best part of all is that there's room for everyone. Can't find your niche? Then make one for yourself- chances are, there's someone else looking for the same thing.

I love the DA writer community because despite the grumps that can be found wherever you have the human race there are some real helps. I don't exactly feel involved with the community, but that's more my own personalities fault. I can however see the real love and devotion put into it and like the fact that people are so helpful.

I like seeing the projects done and the over all happiness this comradeship brings.

I love the dA Lit Community because even though I'm terrified interacting with people, at chats I don't feel like people are judging me when I admit to not knowing something obscure or being awkward. I'm normally expected to be some kind of super smart person, and it's very freeing to not have to be that.

DA's Lit Community gives the chance to soooo many unknown writers to promote themselves. There are people out there that are so great and we didn't know them. But DA gave us the opportunity to read their amazing work and meet them. But for me isn't just the promotion. I met new people with the same interests as mine. I made friends. I argued and agreed, had fun ,made fans and was made a fan, liked people and loved. I met my bf. So I think this is the best of all; the people. People who understand you. That's why I love da's lit community.

I have made amazing friends and learned countless lessons because I became part of the Lit Community. I love the Literature Community because it's exactly that. A community. There is such an array of writers from nearly every genre and every skill level. Love dA Lit has reinforced that the Lit Community is an entire network of deviants forming a galaxy, dotted with smaller clusters of groups that spiral all over but gravitate towards the love of literature, of writing. We're not all the same and we don't always know who is out there, but we are all reaching out for similar things.

This project is my way of saying thank you to the community and to remind everyone that each of us matters and does make a difference when we contribute [no matter how small].

Now...

I loved reading this. It’s like watching one of those emotional slide-shows at a high school graduation. It’s amazing the type of comradery that can be achieved when people share a single passion. Such a beautiful thing.:heart::heart::heart:
